Wörter 307 w. n. 79, where κάσις, κασίγνητος with doubtful right are taken from the poetical language. Unclear are κασεν (Lacon. Knabeninschr.; s. Kretschmer Glotta 3, 270ff., Schwyzer 625 n. 5 [for καθ'ἕν?]) and καινίτα ἀδελφή, καινίτας ἀδελφοὺς καὶ ἀδελφάς H. (Cyprian \< κασιγνητ- [with itacism]?; s. v. Blumenthal Hesychst. 22).Origin: IE [Indo-European] [373] *ǵnh₁-tos + *km̥t-i- `born with (from the same mother)'Etymology: Diff. Kuiper Glotta 21, 287: from κατα.
